ANY Job You Really Want In 7 Steps

ANY Job You Really Want In 7 Steps

ANY Job You Really Want In 7 Steps
By Peter Fisher

You really want that job but don't know where to start? When you need to change jobs or even your career it's just a matter of following these 7 Steps that will mean you know what to do and when. You can then get any job you REALLY want!

Step 1 - What Uniquely Have You Got to Offer?

That piece of knowledge or bit of experience that others haven't got can make all the diference. Take time to sort out your unique difference, this is your USP. Step 1 of 7 Steps to ANY job you really want is the one that will make the crucial difference.

Step 2 - What Can You Say About Yourself that SELLS?

If you have done something that you're proud of there is no need for bragging; just tell it like it is. Once you've sorted out your USP you have something solid to talk about. Talking about yourself isn't always easy but a little practice will get you there. You soon learn to sell yourself when you have a real desire for that job.

Step 3 - Who do You Know?

You might be surprised to find that someone you know, knows someone else that needs you. So get talking! Everyone knows someone who could be a vital link in your network. More jobs are found this way than any other way!

Step 4 - The Best CV or Resume Ever.

Is the one that shows you to be the right choice. Don't let it knock you out of the running. Keep to what is relevant and don't try to include everything you have ever done. Apply the lessons in "The Ultimate CV" to be sure your CV doesn't let you down.

Step 5 - Applying by Letter.

Keep it simple, the best cover letter for any job application is a one pager with a beginning, a middle and an end. You should include examples of how you match up to thier spec - best done with 4 or 5 bullet points from the original advert. To see how to do this really well, you can find example cover letters on Your CV Coach web site.

Step 6 - Working the Market Place.

Don't just be a busy fool - use your time according to the payback you can expect. For example adverts only account for 25% of all successful job moves; therefore only allow 25% of your time on adverts. The majority of your time must be better spent in building and working your network.

Step 7 - Winning the Interview Game.

Don't fear the interview - this is your chance to showcase your best skills. With some help you can be better prepared than the interviewer - you know what that means for the resulting outcome. Certain types of questions will always crop up. Get answers to these interview questions from sites on the net so you are prepared. Take some time to do this, advice is everywhere so be sure to take some.
